The Dog And The Cat
Erica, 9, Queensland, Australia

The moral of my fable is:  Take love when given even if you don’t want it!
My fable is:
Once upon a time there was a dog who was bored. His name was Dog. He was lazy and turned and turned.
Soon there was a cat who was so energetic that she was bouncing. “Come play with me, Dog!!! We will have fun!!” Cat suggested.
Dog turned and looked and shook his head. “No! I will not play with a filthy cat,” Dog replied angrily.
Cat turned and walked away.
A month later Dog was hated. He didn’t do anything. Cat came by. She saw him. “You should have played with me, Dog. Then you wouldn’t have such a hard time and be alone!”
“Well, Cat, you’re right. I should have played with you,” Dog said sadly.
“Can you still play with me, Cat?” he asked. Cat nodded. They played every day.

Struggling In The Sea
Melody Kim, 10, California

The moral of my fable is:  Don’t leave a friend struggling anywhere, including the sea!!! NEVER DO THAT!!!
My fable is:
My name is Gina Gaines, but call me G.G. It all started when my friend, Jenna Jothic (J.J.) and I were on an airplane going to Paris, France.
But then suddenly a wind hit and the wing of the airplane ripped off, The pilot rushed to the hall, grabbed a parachute, and then went bye-bye out of the airplane. The airplane was diving down 1,000 miles per hour. The airplane crashed so hard into the ocean that the second it touched the sea, it broke into pieces.
I panicked because everywhere I looked were injured people floating in the water.
J.J. and I got onto a raft. But instead of joining me, J.J. swam all the way out of sight.
“YOU ARE THE WORST FRIEND EVER!!!” I yelled. I struggled so badly that I even had a hard time putting on my vest life jacket. I found that there was a fin circling around my raft.
When I was finally rescued, I learned that my friend J.J. had also been rescued by another ship. I was happy for her, but she is no longer my friend.

The Frog And The Crow
Dominick, 7, Pennsylvania, USA

The moral of my fable is:  Do not do something dangerous to make yourself look more cool.
My fable is:
One day at noon a frog met a crow. The frog thought that if he leaped off a high height, such as a cliff, he would look cool in to the crow.
The frog said, “Do you want to go somewhere?” The crow replied, “Yes!”
Then the frog said, “What about a cliff?” The crow replied, “If you want to, it’s OK with me.”
Later they set off to go find a cliff. At two o’clock, they found a cliff.
Finally, in the afternoon sun, frog hopped off the cliff… and hurt himself terribly.
