The Fox And The Lynx

By Andrew B., 9, Maryland, USA

The moral of my fable is: Never play tricks on your neighbors unless you can stand it yourself.

Once in a forest, there was a fox and a lynx.  The Lynx was sleeping, and the Fox said to himself, “Why don’t I trick Lynx when it rains?”  The next day, the Fox put his plan into action.

Tuesday came and that was the rainy day.  So, as it rained, the Fox took the Lynx’s food and blanket while he slept and scurried off.

When it stopped raining, the Lynx woke up soaked and thought out loud, “Fox did this didn’t he?”

On Wednesday, it rained again, too.  When the Fox was sleeping, the Lynx took his dry food and blankets and scurried off.  Later, the Fox woke up wet and angry that he had no food.  Then, the Lynx popped out and said, “Never play tricks on your neighbors unless you can stand it yourself.”

The Wolf And The Fox

By Princess A., 8, Maryland, USA

The moral of my fable is: Remember not to brag if it means others will be hurt by it.

One day in the forest, there was a wolf and a fox.  The Wolf was timid and humble, but the Fox was boastful and a bully.

That day, Fox bragged and said, “Oh, Wolf!  I am way more elegant and flexible than you!  You are just a howling dog!”  Wolf felt sad.

Wolf didn’t like how mean Fox was and every time Fox came near, Wolf became skittish.  In the end, Wolf left the forest, and never came back.

The Hippo and the Alligator

By Keon B., 9, Maryland, USA

The moral of my fable is: Don’t tease others if you can’t stand to be teased.

There was a hippo and an alligator.  Alligator always made jokes about Hippo.  The Hippo was calm when Alligator said, “Why you so big?  Get smaller!”

                  The Hippo said, “Ok?”

A couple days later, the Alligator said the same thing again, and to this Hippo replied, “Why do you care so much about my size tiny?”

The Alligator flew into a rage and yelled, “If you want to call me small I am never being friends with you!!!”

Hippo said, “Take it easy man.”

The Lion And The Tiger

By Hamim D., 8, Maryland, USA

The moral of my fable is: Never waste time for what can be done today.

In a forest, lived a Lion and a Tiger.  The Lion gathered food while the Tiger slept.

When Lion saw Tiger Lion said, “Why waste your time sleeping when you should be working?”

Tiger said, “Leave me alone for I will work tomorrow.”

Winter came, and Tiger had no food.  So back he went to sleep hungry, and Lion was full and happy.

The Yak And The Leopard

By Sean B., 8, Maryland, USA

The moral of my fable is: Sharing leads to good outcomes.

The Yak and the Leopard are in the desert playing video games.  The Leopard gets mad at the Yak.  “I never get to play Fortnite!”

All the sudden, they started pulling at the controller and it fell and broke.  They were left with a broken controller and no video games.
